Joshua Bassett, "The Golden Years Tour"

Singer/Songwriter and actor Joshua Bassett embarked on his twenty-three date U.S. leg of his The Golden Years tour in July hitting cities in Texas, North Carolina, and California amongst other states.

Bassett recently released his debut album of the same name. The eleven-song record gives fans a glimpse into Bassett’s life from the last few years. Bassett endured breakups, rehabilitation from addiction, and a newfound relationship with his faith and God.

I attended the last date of the U.S. leg of The Golden Years tour at at the YouTube Theater in Inglewood, CA which is attached to SoFi Stadium.

Joshua Bassett brought along fellow singer/songwriter Thomas Day as support. Day opened up the shows for Bassett in an extremely energetic way keeping the crowd wanting more.

I wasn’t familiar with Thomas Day or his music, but he has natural talent that pours out in his lively stage presence and emotional performance.

Joshua came out nearly an hour after Day’s set ended which made for an eager crowd. From the beginning of the show til’ the last note was played Bassett ran and danced around all over stage.

Joshua was one with the crowd during the duration of the show. He made sure he danced across every inch of the stage giving fans at every area of the venue a shot to take a picture. Multiple times Bassett came out into the crowd and shook hands and hugged fans.

Joshua has made it a tradition to bring up fans to teach him their own dances when he performs his song, ‘Circles’ and he does his best to imitate the dance while singing - he’s a natural.

Seeing the album come to life live made me have a better appreciation for the album as a whole and made me like some of the songs more than the studio recorded versions.

Venue: The YouTube theater is an exceptional venue. It was extremely clean and open, the employees were friendly and helpful, and the seats were comfortable.

Seats: I was seated in Section 103, Row L, seat 5 and I had a pretty good view even with people Infront of me standing. I would definitely get these seats again. The YouTube Theater is a two-story building which means they have balcony seating. It was pretty high so if you don’t like heights or are worried about your view I would splurge for tickets in a lower section.

Parking: They made us park in the pink lot in the orange section which is a bit of a walk so if you need to be parked close definitely don’t forget your ADA plaque. Also, if you have the option buy parking in advance, I paid $50 at the venue which is a huge rip off especially if they aren’t parking you closer to the venue.

Overall show: 8/10 Joshua Bassett puts on a really good show, and he has such a fun personality and makes the concert intimate. I would have liked to have seen more visuals and light work. I would have liked to be brought inside the world of The Golden Years through videos or pictures on the screens. Other than that, his band, opener and his performance were great!
