Fall Out Boy, "So Much For (2our) Dust"

Fall Out Boy has been on tour with their new album, So Much (for) Stardust since Summer 2023. Fans couldn’t get enough, so Fall Out Boy took their tour out for part II, “So Much For (2our) Dust”.

Before we get into the show, this is a forewarning for all Ticketmaster buyers and Honda Center visitors. I bought tickets 3 months in advance. I’m very used to buying tickets and I thoroughly make sure the tickets are the ones I want and make sure the view from the seats I want are good. I don’t know who dropped the ball or if Fall Out Boy’s crew didn’t communicate with the venue well enough upon releasing tickets for sale. Nowhere did these tickets state that these seats had an obstructed view. It turns out neither did anyone else’s tickets that were in our section. When we got to our seats a huge light stand was blocking almost the entirety of our view. Of course, I knew we were sitting side stage but had this had said obstructed view I would have gotten other tickets. It was extremely disappointing, there were people above us contemplating buying different tickets if the show wasn’t already sold out. Everyone in our section was complaining and some even left because you could barely see anything going out on the stage. To make matters worse, the screen for those seated side stage was handled very poorly. Two of the opening bands weren’t being videoed so we couldn’t see them at all and the video parts of Fall Out Boy’s show weren’t shown to us at all over the screen. Now, onto the show review!

Since before Junior High, Fall Out Boy was played around the house and in the car by my older siblings so I’d like to say I was very familiar with the band for a very long time.

It was such a dream lineup for any emo/punk-rock fan that the stadium was almost packed for the first opening band which I hadn’t ever really seen before.

Fall Out Boy had bands alternating throughout tour dates. Our show lineup was Daisy Grenade, The Maine, and Jimmy Eat World. All the bands were great.

I will never not complain about this but can someone explain why the opening bands volume is up so loud that you can barely even hear what they’re saying?

This was the second show I had been to where I didn’t know all the songs on the setlist (Yes, I look at the setlist beforehand, I like to be prepared.) I was just going for a good time and to sing a bunch of songs at the top of my lungs not really sure how the stage presence was going to be or if they were "show” people.

Some bands play music and that’s it, which is totally fine and what we go to concerts for. Some bands and artists put on a whole show complete with visuals, pyro, fireworks etc….

Daisy Grenade were the first openers of the night, their setlist was as follows:

  • Are You Scared Of Me Yet?

  • Cult Classic

  • Real Horror Show

  • King For A Day (Pierce the Veil cover)

  • Sick In The City

Daisy Grenade definitely had talent but it was really hard to hear what they were saying.

The Maine was next. I knew of The Maine but never really listened to their music but they were really great and upbeat.

  • Sticky

  • Slip the Noose

  • Dirty, Pretty, Beautiful

  • Black Butterflies & Deja Vu

  • Girls Do What They Want

During their set, they were really interactive with the crowd and pointed out peoples’ outfits and threw guitar picks in the crowd. During Girls Do What They Want, they pulled a guy up from the crowd to sing with them.

  • Loved You a Little

Jimmy Eat World was up next. They had an extensive set list which was pretty weird for me because there were four openers and I think everyone was just ready to see the main act.

  • A Praise Chorus

  • Big Casino

  • Sweetness

  • Something Loud

  • Lucky Denver Mint

  • All The Way (Stay)

  • For Me This Is Heaven

  • Work

  • Let It Happen

  • Hear You Me

  • Futures

  • Pain

  • Just Tonight…

  • Bleed American

  • The Middle

Fall Out Boy came on next and oh my gosh! I instantly knew that next time I see them I’m getting front row seats. The energy that was in the room before they even were on stage was indescribable.

I instantly was having a pity party for myself because of my seats. The second I saw how active they were on stage and how much was going on both on stage and around the stage that we couldn’t see, I knew next time I HAVE to get front-row seats.

They started of the show with fireworks….when the band starts off with fireworks, fire, or smoke being shot into the air, you know it’s going to be a good show.

They did a really great job with the Setlist, I was really hoping to hear them sing their cover of, “We Didn’t Start The Fire” by Billy Joel instead of it being played before they came on.
