Jonas Brother's, "Five Albums. One Night. The Tour."

I grew up listening to the Jonas Brothers, so each time I see them, it’s like the ultimate dream for my seven-year-old self. It’s also really satisfying and a whole other kind of experience singing songs from 2008 with tons of other fans.

The Jonas Brothers were pulling a Taylor Swift and did a tour based on all their albums. It was a three-hour show with intermission but in our case, it was a very great intermission HINT, HINT.

I attended their Anaheim, CA stop on the tour and my unbiased opinion is that it was the BEST night on tour. The Jonas Brothers had so many surprises up their sleeves and are such incredible entertainers.

first and foremost I have to hand it to the Jonas’ for bringing Lawrence on the road as their opening act because I found my new favorite band that night.

The main duo is made up of brother and sister, Clyde and Gracie Lawrence. The full band is made up of six other members: Marc Langer, Sumner Becker, Jordan Cohen, Johnny Koh, Sam Askin, and Michael Karsh.

Lawrence makes incredible songs from R&B to pop and their brass section on tour is absolutely amazing!

Lawrence’s Setlist:

·       Casualty

·       i’m confident that i’m insecure

·       Get Busy (Sean Paul cover)

·       23

Lawrence surprised the crowd by bringing out their friend, Tori Kelly and the stadium went wild!

·       missin u by Tori Kelley

·       Do You Wanna Do Nothing With Me?

·       It’s Gonna Be Me (NSYNC cover)

·       Don’t Lose Sight

Lawrence was high energy and pumped up the crowd for the Jonas Brothers. I would love to go to a headlining show of theirs.

This tour was different than the last tour I attended (The Remember This Tour) in so many ways. For instance, the shape of the stage was way better than the last tour. This stage (designed by Nick) made it a way better for the crowd to interact with the brothers and vice versa.

The Jonas Brothers went ‘era by era’ (using a Taylor Swift analogy.) They intertwined songs from their new album titled THE ALBUM in between eras which is the only thing I have a “complaint” about.

They also had a B-stage which made the concert way more intimate and I had the perfect seats for the B-stage! They also played at the B-stage for a lot more songs than other artists do for their B-stage.

·       The first surprise of the night was A WEDDING! Joe officiated the wedding of the band’s percussionist, Molly, and her fiance, Nick. It was such a unique and beautiful thing to witness and the Jonas Brothers performed their first dance song,

·       When You Look Me in the Eyes

Molly stayed in her white wedding jumpsuit the rest of the night. She tossed the bouquet into the B-stage crowd too!

The Album

Before they sing Little Bird, the band usually gets asked to do a gender reveal and announces the gender during the song. It’s such a cute tradition!

After the A Little Big Longer era, the show goes into intermission but for our show, instead of a ten-minute break, the Jonas Brothers surprised us with a guest performance by Switchfoot!

I LOVE Switchfoot so this MADE. MY. NIGHT. Switchfoot sang the following:

·       Dare You to Move

·       Meant to Live

I later found out that Switchfoot flew to California just to sing at the Jonas Brother’s show.

Next, Chord Overstreet and Glen Powell came out for no other reason than to announce the Jonas Brother’s were coming on. Such a ridiculously WILD night!

I loved the Jonas Brother’s band, they had energy the entire show and were so much fun to watch! You could tell how much fun they were having on stage and all of them were insanely talented!

The Jonas Brothers had the original drummer that was with them in their Disney Channel days which was really cool to see!

I loved the show and the setlist was really thought out! Like I said, if there were one thing I would have loved to have seen each era get its own glory. Only some eras got their own transition video. I also wish they would given The Album its own era instead of sporadically putting The Album songs throughout the show.

Venue: Honda Center in Anaheim, CA. I’ve been to the Honda Center a lot and it’s always been a really clean venue and organized. The only thing I will say is they have been under construction for a while and their parking is a catastrophe. If you can get dropped off during their construction period, I highly recommend it.

Seats: Section 203, Row S, Seat 1. They were amazing seats. Like I said in another show review at the Honda Center, the venue is small and intimate so you get a good view anywhere.

Parking: I was dropped off and every time I’ve gone to the Honda Center, the parking and drop-off are always chaotic. The parking lot isn’t big but they have overflow, it’s just traffic you have to maneuver through.

Hospitality: I’ve never put this on a review I’ve done before but I feel like it needed to be said. The employees at this show in particular were so kind and went out of their way to help. Everyone I encountered from the employees at the concessions, merch, security, and the staff that helps you get to your seat - SO KIND.

I love going to Jonas Brothers shows! The guys are incredibly down-to-earth and love to perform. Their concerts are always so wholesome and the crowds are so fun and full of energy!
