Lady A, "What A Song Can Do" Tour Review

Lady A announced their eighth studio album “What A Song Can Do” would be released October 22nd as they were already gearing up for their tour they had announced months before the album announcement. Lady A were hitting many places on tour starting in Uncasville, CT and ending in Gilford, NH. The band had invited fellow country artists Tenille Arts, Niko Moon and Carly Pearce out on the road with them.

After a year and a half of no live shows I knew I had to snatch tickets as Lady A is one of my favorite country bands. I purchased pit passes to make my show the best one yet and I wasn’t wrong. The band was performing at The Five Point Amphitheater at Irvine, CA. A popular outdoor venue close to the ocean making it one of the most beloved summer venues.

We arrived early to the venue for our VIP Carly Pearce pre show Meet & Greet. The VIP ended quickly so we had to time to eat at the foods trucks on site and head to the pit.

The pit was really quiet until a few minuets before Lady A’s set started so it was nice to enjoy the other sets before the drunk fights started! All kidding aside though the opening acts were some of the best I have seen.

Tenille Arts opened up the show. She is best known for her hits, “I Hate This” which was performed on ABC’s The Bachelor and her song, “Somebody Like That”.

The girl has real talent! She is definitely a true blue country singer. She has the raw talent, the story songs and the down to earth personality. I really wished she had a longer setlist:

  • That’s My Friend

  • Back Then, Right Now

  • Over You Is You

  • I Hate This

  • Somebody Like That

I don’t know if it was the sparkly guitar, the fashion or the crowd knowing every single lyric or all of it together but Tenille is truly a rockstar.

Ten minuets after Tenille’s set, Niko Moon came on. Moon is best known for his songs, “GOOD TIMES” and “NO SAD SONGS”. I’ll admit to not knowing many of Moon’s song before the concert but did I totally go and buy his vinyl a day later? Yes I did! The energy Niko brought to the stage was unlike any other. From jumping around, engaging the crowd to bringing his wife on stage and serenading her….EVERY MINUTE WAS INCREDIBLE!

Niko’s setlist was perfectly created:

  • NO SAD SONGS

  • WAY BACK

  • DANCE WITH ME

  • KEEP ME IN MIND/GONE/HOMEGROWN (Zac Brown Band Mash-up)

  • PARADISE TO ME

  • GOOD TIME

Next up was Carly Pearce - GREAT entertainer, wonderful singer and an amazing person! Pearce is even more talented in person. It almost felt like a Carly Pearce headlining show - which you can buy tickets for HERE.

The whole crowd went insane for Pearce who has hits such as, “Every Little Thing”, “Closer To You” and “I Hope You’re Happy Now”.

Her setlist had every song you could want on it so I can’t wait to see what she pulls out for her headlining tour.

SETLIST:

  • You Kissed Me First

  • Heart’s Going Out of Its Mind

  • Hide the Wine

  • Should’ve Known Better

  • Everybody Gonna Talk

  • Man! I Feel Like a Woman! (Shania Twain cover)

  • Liability

  • Every Little Thing

  • Messy

  • Ain’t Goin Down (Til the Sun Comes Up) (Garth Brooks cover)

The time came and Lady A took the stage after Art’s, Moon’s and Pearce’s excellent performances. They opened up their show with their brand new hit, “Like A Lady”. You could feel the excitement of the crowd as everyone screamed, danced and sang along.

Every Lady A show I’ve been to always seems to out do the other. They are pure entertainers, vocalists and instrumentalists. Their set list was as followed:

  • Like A Lady

  • Love Don’t Live Here

  • What a Song Can Do

  • Downtown

  • What If I Never Get Over You

  • Compass

  • Heartbreak

  • American Honey

  • A crowd rendition of “Let It Go” from Frozen (Feat. Hillary Scott)

  • Our Kind of Love

  • Just a Kiss

  • I Run To You

  • Bartender

  • You Look Good

  • Champagne Night

  • We Owned the Night

  • Need You Now

  • Walking in Memphis (Marc Cohn)

Lady A put on a good two hour show full of perfect harmonies, lights and love. You could tell how much they missed being out on the road as much as we all missed being at live shows.

I will never not attend a Lady A show. They really give their all to every performance they do. I wouldn’t have wanted my first concert back to be any one else.

About the Venue: Lady A played Five Point Amphitheater in Irvine, CA. It was a temporary set up but is now permanent making it a much nicer place to see a concert. The 12,000 person capacity is a perfect outdoor venue and there really is no bad seat in the house.

Seats: We enjoyed the show from PIT this time and it was wonderful. We had a great view for most of the show until a few fellow concert goers started to get a little rowdy.

Sound: Sound was great, we could hear the acts loud and clear but we could also hear the crowd LOUD and clear!

Cleanliness: During times of COVID 19 those in charge of the health and cleaning of the venue were amazing! The bathrooms were extremely clean and there were janitors inside the bathroom area making sure everything was kept clean. Hand sanitizer stations were found throughout the venue.

Parking: Parking was free unless you preferred VIP parking. We got into the lot really fast and got pretty good parking at that. Leaving wasn’t great but better than other venues.

Rating: 10/10 great venue and great acts! I will definitely be coming to this venue again.
